During the year, our students benefit from the Career Services of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
Our campus spans from Geneva’s international area to downtown Geneva with its vibrant cultural life.
Our three master’s programmes are organized around intimate learning communities enabling close interaction between students and professors.
Our events provide a critical and scholarly forum for experts and practitioners to debate topical humanitarian, human rights and transitional justice issues.
To teach International Humanitarian Law (IHL) at the Geneva Academy is a unique pleasure and challenge: nowhere else will you find so many brilliant young people from all around the world, keen to specialize in IHL and to work in this field; nowhere else will I be subject to so many challenging questions on the most cutting-edge IHL issues, many of which I discover thanks to the students, but some of which I am perfectly unable to answer.
This Military Briefing will give a military perspective on the impact of international human rights law on military operations, focusing particularly on the British experience in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.
We look forward to welcoming students, their friends, families and our professors at the 2018 Graduation Ceremony.
